What fascinates you?

Beautiful Creatures

I am starting my research for a new book series called Beautiful Creatures and would like to hear what fascinates you!
Taken July 2012

Beautiful Creatures is a collection of creative non-fiction humane education books exploring the worlds of other species through a web of interwoven narratives that will educate and inspire readers about the mysterious lives of other species that surround them. For ages 9-12 and beyond…

The first set of stories for the Beautiful Creatures collection will unearth the lives of insects (arthropods) through the visual lens of select species from aquatic insects, beetles, caterpillars, butterflies, moths, grasshoppers and crickets to mantids, bees, wasps, ants, flies and arachnids. My aim is to blend together the narratives of these species as their worlds intersect. Each narrative will explore the realities of such lesser known creatures by interweaving non-fiction elements into a tapestry of stories that will capture and educate the reader about the ecological, symbiotic and holistic connections of the world we live in.

I am also looking for illustrators who may be interested in contributing to the project. I am currently in the process of working on a funding proposal that I will launch very soon. As I am writing these stories for the public, I would love your input on what you would enjoy reading!

Share your ideas for more adventures with William and many new friends!
